1978
Here we are at the very beginning, 1978 ! The first spreadsheet program was created this year !
Dan Bricklin has just made the VisiCalc with the help of his friend, Robert Bob Frankston !
A YEAR LATER , 1979 ...
Bricklin and Frankston founded the company Software Arts, Inc. to enhance the Visical, Daniel Fylstra later joined them in developing the program. It was later released to the public by Fylstra's company, VisiCorp !
Now let us proceed to the
1980's!

1980
SuperCalc !
A spreadsheet that can run on computers have been invented !
A format allowing spreadsheet data to be imported to other programs has been made !
The Data Interchange Format has been developed !
A YEAR LATER , 1981 ...
A year later, a spreadsheet that can handle multiple spreadsheets have been invented !
The MultiPlan has been invented !
Let's jump through time, 2 years later !

1983
MultiPlan can now handle five tasks !
Context Management Systems released a software that can do spreadsheets, graphs, databases, word processing and telecommunications !
Lotus Development Corporation, founded by Mitchell Mitch' Kapor released a new spreadsheet program !
1-2-3 can handle three tasks such as spreadsheets, graphs and database !
A spreadsheet program can now use a mouse !
Apple Computer, Inc released, Lisa Calc !
Apple has released yet another program, the AppleWorks!
It is still in its primitive state and can handle three tasks such as databases, spreadsheet, and word processing !
They have managed to level up AppleWorks ! It can now run seven tasks which are spreadsheets, graphs, databases, word processing, telecommunications, graphic painting and desktop publishing !
It was released by Claris, and they named it AppleWorks GS .
That was a long year... anyways, let's go to 1985, where the most commonly used spreadsheet of today was invented !

1985
A spreadsheet that can perform three tasks in a graphical environment has been invented !
Microsoft released it, and called it Excel . It can also run on both PC and Mac !
We're almost done ! Now, let's get moving to two years later and the present !

1987
A spreadsheet that has features that are of Excel and 1-2-3 have been made !
It was released by Borland and they called it Quattro Pro !
present day
New programs and updated versions of the old programs are now flooding the market ! Some have been taken down and gone, like Lotus 1-2-3 but many programs are still present, still developing and updating !
